I chose to name my catamaran "Mystique" because sailing for me is full of magical, mysterious, mythical and mystical moments. The word seemed to speak to me...as a collection and combination of powerful forces. I found mystique whenever and wherever paradises, islands, sunsets, rainbows, moonlit waters, freedom or nature sensations appeared. I recognize these sensations and feelings now. Ever since my father plopped me into a sailboat when I was 5 years old, sailing has taught me most of life's essential truths and lessons. There is a part of me that always wants others to taste this elixir. If you sail, you know the feeling is intoxicating. My boat has become another reminder to experience life with mystique.
Design & Specifications:
The racing boat expertise of Morelli & Melvin combined with the Moorings’ decades of cruising experience come together in the Robertson & Caine built Moorings 4000. Excellent under sail with her full battened mainsail and 120% roller furling genoa, she also has powerful twin engines for reliable performance in all conditions. Her large, stable deck provides plenty of areas to sit or recline, and makes all activities including sail handling and anchoring safe and secure. The cockpit is well thought-out with 360 degree visibility from the double helm seat and a hatch in the hardtop to check sail trim.
In addition to providing protection from the sun, the hard top also incorporates the main sheet track which allows free access to the swim platforms and dinghy davits. The cockpit is equipped with color chartplotter, autopilot, wind instruments, stereo speakers, comfortable seating and a large table. With a serving window from the galley and the wide doorway, the cockpit can function as an extension of the salon or as a separate space.
The galley is located at the salon level, offering a cocktail bar for easy serving. Both areas benefit from the panoramic view through the large forward windows. There is an L shaped settee in the salon along with a dining table. Throughout the boat there is plenty of storage, great ventilation and abundant light. There is a refrigerator and freezer both easily accessible on the port side of the salon. A three burner stove and oven rounds out the well appointed galley.
With the four cabin layout, each hull has two double cabins, each with a dressing area. Between the two cabins is a full head with separate shower. A small forepeak berth is also located at the end of each double berth in the forward cabins.
