Hello, I'm Henry.

Welcome aboard my blog's home.

If you come along with me, you'll become acquainted with my motley mates and faithful crew:

Experiences, Sightings, Observations, Impressions, Ideas, Reflections, Remembrances, Insights and Commentary.

They, after all, have accompanied me for as long as I can recall. Their tenure has helped me turn my tiller, fill my sails, and transport me over seas to distant lands. Maybe if you take the time to get to know them, a few will do the same for you.

Click this way and scroll along if you please...Enjoy your stay.

Sea-ing Back Tattoos

Sea-ing Back Tattoos

The sea dominates our globe. So it is fitting that the human back offers the tattoo artist the body's greatest canvass for their and their client's seascapes. And nautical and/or naughty body art is no longer only a seafarer's form of expression.

Tattoos have never had the CULTURAL significance in European societies that they possessed in others. While tattoos have an important place in cultures stretching from the South Pacific to pre-Colombian America, tattoos only recently received a place in mainstream America, thanks, in part, to the long tradition of tattooing among nautical men.

Long associated with sailors and ships, classical tattoos of the Western tradition now often sport numerous nautical themes from anchorssharksswallowsstars, sea monsters and ships.
